Before you walk in

My name is Jon. I’m a hospital chaplain.

When I started working as a chaplain, I started writing about being a chaplain.

That’s how I make sense of my thinking.

I’ve published essays and reflections and lists at many of my blogs. And in the background, I was gathering them into a manuscript that I called, Before You Walk In: A Devotional Primer for Those Offering Hospital Pastoral Care.

It’s still an unpublished manuscript, but I’m also aware that it can be helpful for a handful of people.

I also write a weekly newsletter for people who are finding words in hard times.
